Special Exhibits
Power Suit Quits
A collection of 105 small quilts created from outdated tailor’s swatchbooks. Using “Power Suits” as the inspiration, this exhibit is diverse, entertaining and thought-provoking. The quilts reflect varied topics such as politics, family, worklife, playing cards, and super heroes.
25th Anniversary Silver Threads Challenge
2012 marks the 25th Anniversary of the New England Quilt Museum. In honor of the Silver Anniversary, quilters everywhere were challenged to create a small quilt illustrating what the word “silver” meant to them. Entries were received from across the country and even from Europe.
The Legacy of Linen
An exhibit of six quilts by Cindy Needham. Cindy has been a hand and machine quilter for nearly 40 years. She has taken her love of heirloom quilting and has showcased it by creating fabulous Wholecloth quilts from antique linen tablecloths. Each piece is exquisitely quilted, hand beaded and each has a special story to share.
